BBQ Sauce/Mala Hot Sauce Posters

The posters were designed for Baobo's Hot Chicken BBQ Sauce and Mala Hot Sauce.

As the client wanted to focus on the young customers, I tried to mash up the traditional and trendy art style into the poster.

For the Hot Chicken BBQ Sauce, the artwork features the sauce and the chicken pot in the middle, with a few cartoon illustrations (drawn in procreate) at the back to form an advocating vibe, hyping the audience to buy.

Inspired by the old school Hong Kong restaurant posters, I used yellowing tone with a few red splashing bars for the background to build contrast, and the products will be sharply defined against it.

For the Mala Hot Sauce, I tried including pop culture like American comics. Thus you will see the lines and patterns at the background featuring a strong comics style. Of course red and yellow are the main colors to echo with the hot taste.

I also put a few labels on the left on each poster to educate customers on different usage of the sauce, enhancing the demand of it.
